A trip to Joyce Wine Company in Carmel Valley Village is always refreshing. On our last visit, their rose hit the spot for a crisp refreshing summer sipper with their rose. First, we were swept away with a whiff of chilled red apple and cherry. Its light color appeared more salmon than pink; so we prepared our palates for a manly rose. We were glad we did when that aroma and color led to a wide mouthfeel of mouthwatering strawberry, cherry, and watermelon deep into the pockets of our cheeks. Its tart fruit profile felt like a welcome well balanced old world style.
