Sea Shell Cellars in Paso Robles may sound like a place that pours coastal varietals but they’re also keeping merlot sexy. This wine begins with a seductive soft warm aroma of black cherry and vanilla that piques the palate. Then, a hearty round sensual sip felt luxurious on the palate, leading to a long layered finish that lured me back for another sip. This is a voluptuous red! We usually go to this tasting room because they have a rose that knocks it out of the park. But their merlot is a grand slam.
