Big thanks to vinvillage.com for an amazingly refreshing Pinot Days festival! Refreshing because it was not elbow to elbow yet was plenty crowded and lively. So was the Pinot! This festival brought me back to this historical grape. A few highlights:
- Stomping Girl Wines – great name with great juice from Russian River Valley and Carneros
- Small Vines – Uniquely delicious idea yields equally delicious results because grapes given a bit more space produce much higher fruit quality
- Manzoni – Pinot Noir from Soledad hit it out of the park with such delicious raspberry, cherry, and spice but a hint of bell pepper and licorice, usually only found in bigger mightier grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon. Delicious!
Glad you liked our wine (and name!) I agree–Pinot Days had plenty of people and was lively but not crazy crazy like it could’ve been. I think holding it on a Sunday helped. Btw, I’ll see about emailing a recipe using our wine. Cheers!
