Outdoor wine tasting. Many people have asked me about places where they can taste safely outside now that the weather is starting to shine again. Almost every winery I called on the central coast had lots of outdoor space to taste safely. But here are a few favorites.
Austin Hope
Wonderfully elegant wines in their plush private gardens is an exceptional experience.
Derby Wine Estates
Lovely patio seating with amazing rose wine and several reds you’ll want by the case.
Niner Wine Estates
Lovely grounds with spectacular views and a heart in the middle of the vineyard. So charming!
Pelletiere Estate
Italian varietals grown in California soil with stunning views of their estate.
Penman Springs
An array of delicious wines served from a view of their vineyard. We fondly remember all the big bold reds.
Rava Wines
Beautiful estate with upscale patio dining and lavish wines including sparkling wines in the mix.
Still Waters
Beautiful picnic tables surrounded by vineyards in almost every direction and one of the best merlot wines around.
Tablas Creek
Good solid selections for Rhones with a California flair.
If you’re like me and you’ve had it with driving or you’d prefer to be downtown, Paso has a few places in the square with lovely outdoor, sidewalk, or patio wine tastings. Check out Stilson, Cloak & Dagger, and Line Shack.
