What’s a farm stay? I didn’t know either but it does sound like it defines itself. Here’s where you can stay on a functioning apple farm, right in the orchard, get your hands dirty, attend cooking classes, or just wine taste at nearby vineyards and enjoy the lovely garden.

It’s also a great place to stop on your way through Mendocino County to pick up organic small farm goodies like jam, chutneys, apple cider vinegar, and, of course, apples. They have the most uniquely creative concoctions like green tomato and red pepper chutney, spicy fig and walnut chutney, and apricot almond & cherry chutney. I must admit I don’t really even know what chutney is but could not resist the innovative mixtures of flavors.
